Respite Care

Respite care is short-term, temporary care provided to give primary caregivers a break. Through BKS Village, your loved one stays in a vetted, home-like environment with a trained host caregiver. Stays can range from a few hours to several weeks, depending on your needs.

Our respite care services are available for seniors, adults with disabilities, children with special needs, veterans, and individuals with memory conditions like dementia or Alzheimer's. We match each guest with a host home suited to their specific needs.

Stays are fully flexible. You can book a few hours of daytime care, an overnight stay, a weekend, or an extended multi-week placement. We work around your schedule and your loved one's needs.

Yes. Every host home in our network undergoes a thorough vetting process including background checks on all household members, a home safety inspection, caregiver training, and ongoing nurse-led oversight. We do not place guests in homes that haven't passed our full approval process.

Absolutely — and we encourage it. We always recommend a meet-and-greet visit before the first stay so your loved one can get comfortable with the environment and the host caregiver. Your peace of mind is our priority.

Home Care

Our home care services include personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming), medication reminders, meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, transportation to appointments, and more. We create a personalized care plan for each client.

All caregivers are thoroughly screened, background-checked, and trained before placement. Our nurse-led model means a licensed RN oversees every care plan and monitors caregiver performance on an ongoing basis.

Yes. Once you've been matched with a caregiver and built a relationship, you can request that same caregiver for future visits. Consistency is important to us and to the people we serve.

Yes. We offer care 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays. Our support line is also available 24/7 for any urgent needs or questions.

Becoming a Host Home

Any compassionate adult with a safe, welcoming home can apply to become a host. You don't need a medical background — we provide all the training you need. You do need to pass our background check and home inspection process.

Compensation varies based on the level of care required and the duration of stays. Our care coordinators will walk you through the rate structure during your onboarding. Many host providers earn a meaningful supplemental income while making a real difference.

We provide comprehensive onboarding training covering personal care basics, emergency procedures, communication with families, and documentation. Ongoing training and nurse support are also available throughout your time with us.

Yes. We always present you with a guest profile before any placement. You have the right to accept or decline based on your comfort level, capacity, and the needs of the guest. We never force a match.

Medical Staffing

We staff a wide range of healthcare professionals including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), physical therapists, occupational therapists, and more.

For urgent needs, we can often place qualified staff within 24–48 hours. For planned placements, we recommend reaching out at least 1–2 weeks in advance to ensure the best match for your facility.

Yes. We handle all credentialing, license verification, background checks, and compliance documentation for every professional we place. You receive fully vetted, ready-to-work staff.

Billing & Insurance

Coverage depends on your specific plan. Medicaid, long-term care insurance, and some Medicare Advantage plans may cover respite or home care services. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly, and our team can help guide you through the process.

We accept private pay, major credit/debit cards, ACH bank transfers, and select insurance plans. Our billing team will work with you to find the most convenient payment arrangement.

For respite care, there is typically a minimum of 4 hours per booking. For home care visits, minimums may vary by service type. Contact our team for specific details based on your needs.

We understand that plans change. Cancellations made 24 hours or more in advance are generally not subject to a fee. Late cancellations may incur a partial charge. Our team will always work with you to reschedule rather than cancel when possible.
